Inbavijayan Veeraraghavan

Inbavijayan was educated at Dr.Ambedkar Govt. Law College, University of Madras. On completion of his legal education, he took up litigation practice at High Court of Madras (1997). His enthusiasm towards ADR made him to pursue whole time arbitration practice since 2001. He has presided as sole arbitrator and represented as counsel in over 260 domestic cases, several Documents–only small claims finance arbitrations and 10 international arbitrations. His areas of practice includes international commercial arbitration, maritime arbitration, international trade & contracts, IPR, construction disputes, finance & banking disputes, securities market, JVs, L/Cs, ADR, sale of goods, domain name disputes and investment disputes. He has been accredited as an arbitrator in HKIAC, CIETAC, RCAKL, CRCICA, ICADR, ICA, CIDRA and various other regional & national arbitration institutions. To add up, he is a co-founder and former Secretary of an arbitration institution, CNICA and inducted as member of ICCA. Recently he has been approved as Tutor of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, UK and had been listed in the 2008 edition of International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitrators. Chambers Asia Directory has continuously listed Veeraraghavan Inbavijayan for five consecutive years since 2009 in Dispute Resolution and Arbitration and was recently listed in Indian Lawyer 45 under 45. In addition he is promoting the concept of ADR by way of writing articles and books, providing training courses and gives lecture on Arbitration and ADR in law schools, Universities, Chambers of Commerce and conferences worldwide.

Surya Narmada Inbavijayan

Surya Narmada was a Post Graduate in Horticulture from Tamilnadu Agriculture University. She was based at Chennai and took up her practice in Horticulture as consultant since 2000. Her passion towards Arbitration and ADR made her to involve in activities related to same since 2005. She had immense experience in managing activities of an Arbitration and ADR centre. She administered several arbitrations, both domestic and international. Her working knowledge in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution (Mediation and Arbitration) made her to utilize the service in agriculture industry. Her advisory service in this field includes inclusion of arbitration clause, drafting and vetting agreements, opinion to initiate arbitration, facilitating the parties to appoint arbitrator and expert opinion in agriculture and landscape industry and commodity contracts.  She acts as mediator in several cases involving family matters, sharing of property and water and boundary dispute in lands etc. She had conducted seminars, workshops, training programmes and lectures to promote the innovative concepts of Arbitration and ADR in Agriculture Contracts of Institution of Valuers and has given Approved Valuer status for her work in the field of valuation of agriculture projects. She had been listed in the List of Expert in WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre. In addition she had a wide range of media exposure. Her interview on Horticulture Therapy, Organic Farming, Marketing of Horticulture Produce and online agriculture consultancy were telecasted in various television channels.

Prema Chandra

Prema Chandra recently retired as the Additional Secretary to the Government of India after 36 years of rich experience, 7 of which involved international experience, with exposure in all aspects of management. He has held several top positions such as Director, State Head Telecom, and has expertise in Domestic/ International Arbitration and Techno-Economic Study. In his official capacity, he has handled many arbitration-related obligations. He has lead major projects, and worked as the adviser to Government of Qatar for technology and for Doha Asian Games. Well experienced in directing the delivery of a range of administrative services involving finance services, MOUs with external partners and clients, Contracts management, Commercial transactions, administrative, Procurement, meeting and logistic services, as well as a variety of client related services for the customers, Prema Chandra has handled over a hundred domestic arbitration cases mainly in telecom services, besides cases involving European, Asian and Gulf Countries. He has also mediated several franchisee disputes and commercial disputes. 

Arunachala Thevar Baskaran
Arunachala Thevar Baskaran is a Post Graduate in Economics from Madurai Kamaraj University and Law from University of Madras. He commenced his practice in 1980. An Arbitrator, Mediator, Commissioner of Oaths, Advocate and Consultant. His areas of practice are in criminal, customs, enforcement, bankruptcy intellectual property, international trade, contracts, distribution, franchising, corporate, international commercial disputes, joint ventures, technological transfers, letter of credits, finance and banking disputes, sale of goods, domain name disputes leading to mediation and arbitration. His passion to justify mediation and arbitration practice started in the early 90 and now full time arbitration and mediation practice. He has been accredited as an arbitrator and mediator in ICA and KLRCA and regional arbitration and mediation institutions. He is the President of India Forum of International Court for the Dispute Resolution. He is the Vice President of Peace Council for Arbitration and Mediation, Chennai. The Ministry of Law, Singapore appointed him as Mediator in Community Mediation Centre Singapore. He is a registered Foreign Lawyer by Legal Practice Board Perth, Australia since 2008. He is a volunteer in Family Service Centre, run by Government in Singapore. He runs a Charitable Institution in India to help the needy students. He intends to promote the concept of ADR by providing training courses to all professionals and students, gives lecture on arbitration, mediation and conferences.

Aravamudhan Ulaganathan Ravindran (Raghav)

Aravamudhan Ulaganathan Ravindran (Raghav) is an Advocate enrolled with the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and India. He has a first degree in International Business and Globalisation from the UK and a Master’s in Business Administration and Bachelor’s in Law from India. He is also a certified intercultural trainer.  His practise areas include Arbitration (Industries: Construction, Banking, Retail and Commodities), Mediation, Trademarks, Company Law and Property law. Raghav is an avid supporter of pro-bono work. He has worked with NGO’s, government institutions and individuals. His pro-bono work is primarily focussed on private and public international law. He was the former Registrar of CNICA. He was a Guest Lecturer at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University and its affiliated colleges. He is currently a Research Scholar pursuing his PhD in International and European Law, a Joint Doctoral Programme administered by Riga Graduate School of Law, Latvia and University of Copenhagen, Denmark.  The title of his research is “International Investment Arbitration, the Rule of Law and Public Policy”. 


Kirthi Jayakumar

Kirthi  is a writer and lawyer. A Peace and Conflict studies enthusiast, Dispute Resolution is one of Kirthi's core areas of expertise. She is a volunteer with the UN. She is presently a Commissioning Editor with e-IR, an online International Relations portal, the Logistics and Constituents Head at The Channel Initiative, working for post-conflict reconstruction in the DR Congo, specifically targeting women. Kirthi works with DeltaWomen, as a writer and with CAAGLOP, as a Managing Editor and writer on African Policy. Recently, Kirthi was part of the UNICEF-UN Women Global Thematic Consultation on Addressing Inequalities through her paper titled The Rule of Law to combat Sexual Violence in a Conflict Environment. Kirthi dabbles with Intelligence and Security Analysis with Open Briefing, as an Associate Researcher, at the Asia-Pacific Desk, and runs an International Law Consultancy and Academic Journal called A38. Kirthi has written ad-hoc features for forums that include TransConflict, WorldPulse and PeaceXPeace and is a member of the TrustLaw Network. Kirthi is a legal researcher and lawyer. Her interest and experience over all lie in Peace and Conflict, Arbitration, Public International Law, Gender issues, International Humanitarian Law, and in terms of a regional focus, in Afghanistan, the Middle East, DR Congo and South-Asia.



Eur Ing Professor Geoffrey Beresford Hartwell CEng FIMechE SenMIEEE(USA) FICA FCIArb.

Geoffrey Beresford Hartwell is a Consulting Engineer, Chartered Arbitrator, Adjudicator, NADR Mediator, and Expert for Determination, with forty years of experience.  He is Visiting Professor of Arbitration Law at the University of South Wales (formerly the University of Glamorgan).  He is on the FIDIC (Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs Conseils) President’s List of Accredited Adjudicators and a Foreign Arbitrator on the list of ICA (the Indian Council of Arbitration) as well as being accredited by ICDR (the International Centre for Dispute Resolution) of AAA (the American Arbitration Association). Geoffrey is a Past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Past President of the Society of Construction Arbitrators.  He has been a Special Referee in the High Court of the Isle of Man.


Arran Dowling-Hussey

Arran Downling-Hussey is a Barrister, Arbitrator, Adjudicator and Mediator. He is a former member of the Bar Council of Ireland's ADR committee and is presently a member of the Board of Management of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London and a member of the General Council of the Asia Pacific Forum for International Arbitration based in Sydney, Australia. Mr. Dowling-Hussey practices as a Door Tenant in London from Temple Court chambers along with his main practice from the Law Library, Dublin, Ireland. He co-wrote 'Arbitration Law' (Round Hall, Dublin 2008) which has been cited and approved in the Irish Superior Courts. It is presently being revised. He also collaborated with a colleague to produce the first annotation of the (Irish) Arbitration Act 2010. He has lectured on ADR in England, Ireland and Pakistan.

M.Sunil Raja

Sunil is a graduate of the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai. Having graduated in 2011, he enrolled himself as an advocate on the rolls of the State Bar Council at Tamil Nadu in August 2011. He went on to pursue his Masters in Business Laws at the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, graduating in 2013. He has experience in litigation, having practiced before the High Court of Adjudicature at Madras, the City Civil Court, the Labour Court, the Family court, the Consumer Court, the DRT/DRAT, the Trademarks Board, and Criminal Courts at Chennai. He also has considerable experience in documentation and registration of properties, along with an interest in Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Besides his professional commitments, Sunil is the State Secretary of the National Student’s Union of India (NSUI), and an active social reformer.
